8.0 Earthquake can come in India anytime. The condition will be worse than Turkey. Arunachal will be in JD from Jammu, Uttarakhand

There is danger of earthquake in Uttarakhand. Scientists say that severe tension is being created under the ground in Uttarakhand.

Due to this, an earthquake of greater intensity than Turkey can occur here. The entire Himalayan region can be in its jurisdiction. However, no prediction was made regarding its timing.

Scientist Dr. N. Purnachandra Rao of National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI) has issued a warning in this regard. According to him, Turkey-like earthquake can also occur in Uttarakhand, because there is a lot of tension under the surface in this region, this tension will go away only when a big earthquake occurs.

GPS signals

Media reports quoted Rao as saying that at present the date and time of the earthquake cannot be predicted. The destruction will depend on a number of factors that vary from one geographic region to another.

Rao said that we have set up about 80 seismic stations in the Himalayan region centered on Uttarakhand. We are monitoring it real time. Our data shows that stress has been building up over a long period of time. We have GPS networks in the area. The GPS points are moving, indicating changes taking place beneath the surface.

Earthquakes of more than 8 magnitude can occur.

Talking about the landslide in Joshimath, considered to be the entry gate of pilgrimage sites like Badrinath and Kedarnath, the scientist has predicted an earthquake in Uttarakhand. Meanwhile, there is also information about cracks on the Joshimath-Badrinath Highway. Rao said that there is a possibility of an earthquake of magnitude more than 8 in the Himalayan region (from Jammu-Kashmir to Arunachal Pradesh).

20 thousand people died in 1905

More than 20,000 people lost their lives in an earthquake measuring 7.9 on the morning of April 4, 1905 in Kangra. Nearly one lakh buildings were destroyed by the earthquake, while more than 53 thousand cattle also fell victim to the earthquake.
